The SSCWF is a weatherproof security camera with internal batteries and a solar panel which can be used outside in areas where traditional, cabled cameras cannot be easily located.
With built-in Wi-Fi this can be setup as an Access Point (you will need to connect directly to the camera) or it can be joined into your home or business WLAN using a smartphone app from anywhere while you are connected to the internet.
The free app can connect to the camera for live viewing with manual recording and snapshot selection and with the inbuilt microphone and speaker you can hear audio from the camera and speak back (simplex channel only, either speak or listen at any one time).
The PIR sensor detects motion both day and night and the camera can be set to record a short video clip when this is activated with a notification sent to the smartphone via Wi-Fi to alert that an event has been detected. Click on the thumbnail below for an example of the file recorded.
Alarm files, manual videos and snapshots are all recorded to an internal Micro SD Card, up to 128GB (not included) and can be downloaded to the phone for later viewing, sharing or just as a backup. As long as the Wi-Fi network that the camera is connected to has an internet connection, the user can check the camera, receive notifications and then view or save the alarm video from their smartphone (which must also be connected to the internet.
At night the camera can use either IR LEDs for illumination but also has White LEDs which can be set as a warning to intruders or to provide visible light for entry areas, gates etc..
While not as advanced as a fully networked and cabled security solution this can provide effective security for rural homes and out-buildings, driveways and gates, locked storage areas and other similar areas where video security is desired. Ideal for temporary video surveillance as it can be deployed in minutes, the SSCWF is particularly well suited to building/construction sites where equipment and materials can be at risk when the site is not attended.
